Hi, my name is Heidi Scott (Peterson), me and my two kids Kinnedy Scott and Fin Scott started Mountain Lavender Farm Summer of 2022! I graduated from Oregon State University (OSU) Cascade Campus here in Bend OR, acquiring my undergrad in 2009 in Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Tourism Management and 2011 acquired my Graduate in Sustainable Natural Resources and completed my thesis on Geothermal Exploration at Newberry National Volcanic Monument which kicked off my carrier with the Forest Service. I completed OSU's Master Gardener Program in 2015 and am currently taking OSU's Master Beekeeping Program. We have lived in Central Oregon (CO) since 2004. So for almost 20 years, I have grown to appreciate what CO has to offer and what we can offer back. 

We currently sit on 2.33 acres just outside of the Bend's City limits and over the past 5 years, I have been trying to figure out a sustainable way to use this land. A lot of things crossed my mind, from fresh veggie stands, goats, a chicken farm or even just putting in a field of hay. However, none of those felt right. Then the idea of a field of flowers came to mind. I have always wanted a field of flowers since I was a little girl. I was involved in a high school shooting back in 1998 and wanted to escape to a field of flowers during that devastation to my community. And so it came about... what type of flowers can I plant here in Central Oregon that are sustainable........ Lavender. 

Lavender comes from the Mediterranean area where the climate and soils are a lot like here .... dry, hot, and arid. Overall I felt like it was the right decision..... Let the adventure begin...

Our goals are to provide a pollinator pathway for bees, local products, community involvement, and a site for small events and tipi rental. We are a part of Lavender Northwest, the US Lavender Growers Association, and Oregon Tea Traders and in the makings of a Central Oregon Region Lavender Chapter of NW Lavender Association (COR).
